At the Latvian Caravan Club, we’re always looking for something fresh. Just getting together for a BBQ is a classic, but we wanted more. The idea for a “Retreat” (caravan-style) had been brewing for a while. We deliberately chose a spot with patchy mobile signal and a “no loud music” rule to see if we could truly disconnect from the digital noise and reconnect with each other.
As it turns out—we definitely could.
The Geography: From Vilnius to Helsinki
This time, the field was dotted with plates from four countries: Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Finland. A special shout-out goes to our Finnish colleagues—two crews from Finland joined us for just one day, crossing the sea just to support the movement and soak up the atmosphere. Lithuanians and Estonians were out in full force too—proof that for caravanners, borders only exist on maps.

Mojitos, Broth, and Garlic Baguettes
We believe the right mood is all in the details:
- The Welcome Drink: Everyone was greeted with a cold, fruit-filled mojito upon arrival—the perfect “reset” after a dusty road.
- Saturday Lunch: Instead of standard camp food, we bet on a “life-saving” chicken broth served with crispy garlic baguettes. Those who stayed up late by the fire the night before definitely appreciated the gesture.

Body & Sound: Yoga and Singing Bowls
Saturday morning wasn’t your typical rally morning. We headed to the shore for more than just a stretch. After yoga, we transitioned into a meditation session with singing bowls.
When the resonance of the bowls blends with the sound of the surf—and your phone is silent because there’s zero bars—the “here and now” feeling is incredibly powerful. This was exactly the kind of re-calibration we were aiming for.

Saunas and the Luxury of Silence
The sauna was roaring all weekend long. The “steam room to sea” cycle worked like a charm. But the real revelation was the communal dinner table.
It turns out that when there’s no music blasting, people actually talk. For real. We swapped routes, shared technical hacks, and laughed for hours, all with the natural soundtrack of the Gulf in the background. Silence wasn’t boring; it was alive.

The Verdict
We got lucky with everything: the weather (it was superb!), the location, and most importantly—the people. This “quiet” rally format proved that sometimes you need to turn the volume down to hear what matters. It was a true detox for the soul and the body.
